Dedicated to every flight attendant just starting—dreaming of soaring, not only through the skies, but also through life—stylishly and soulfully.
When I first became a flight attendant, I didn’t yet know what it meant to live effortlessly—or purposefully. I had just graduated, packed up and moved from the island of Hawai‘i to Dallas, Texas. To me, it felt like landing on another planet.
I didn’t know anyone.
The food was different.
The people were different.
The mindset was different.
And suddenly, there I was—in a three-bedroom crash pad with twelve other flight attendants. My first month, I was assigned the top bunk in a room with two bunk beds, sleeping so close to the ceiling fan I could almost feel it brushing my forehead. Nothing about this lifestyle felt glamorous.
Being on reserve was one of the hardest seasons I’ve ever faced. Crew scheduling would call at 4:00 a.m., expecting me to report by 6:00 a.m. I didn’t have a car. I didn’t know the bus system. I didn’t know the city. I felt completely alone.
My siblings and I would say, “The struggle is real.” And it was.
There were many moments I wanted to quit. But I didn’t.
I kept showing up.
I kept choosing courage.
I kept reminding myself: When the going gets tough, keep going.
What saved me?
What gave me light when I felt buried under exhaustion, early call times, and a crowded apartment?
Fashion. Creativity. And eventually—alignment.
I didn’t like the bunk bed, so I upgraded to a semi-private room and made it my own—cozy, cute, calming. I turned my corner of the world into a sanctuary. I styled my life the way I wanted to feel. I wore clothes that lifted my spirit. I surrounded myself with small luxuries that reminded me of the woman I was becoming.
And slowly, something shifted.
I stopped saying, I want to quit.
I started saying, This is working.
I started saying, This is me.
That’s when everything began to align—and with alignment came something even greater: real power. Not the loud, showy kind, but the quiet strength of knowing who you are and walking with purpose no matter where you stand. That was the beginning of a transformation that changed everything.
This book is for you.
If you’ve just started your flight attendant journey…
If you feel overwhelmed, unseen, or unsure of yourself…
If you’re searching for confidence, clarity, and style that can carry you through it all…
Let these pages be your mirror, your map, and your runway.
Because here’s the truth:
You don’t need a spotlight to shine—you already are the light.
You don’t need a title to walk tall—you already have purpose.
You don’t need to wait for life to get easier—you can live beautifully, boldly, right now.
And when confidence meets clarity, and alignment meets real power—there is no runway you cannot walk.
So turn the page.
Do the inner work.
And rock the runway—on the plane, in your room, on the streets, and most importantly, in your soul.
With all my heart,
Soreno QK
